Out Thane

23 02 2010

The weather here – up until today – has been amazing.  Clear skies, temps in the 40s.  Unfortunately, I had to work most of the day on Saturday and was unable to get out and about, though Michele did make it out to the glacier sans camera (who knows why she left it???).    My heart was crying a little in that I had to work while Michele got to enjoy the great weather.

But on Sunday, work did not call!  We had lunch at the Hangar with Kate and Kevin, then grabbed some chairs and took a journey down Thane Road to sit out by the water for a bit.  Deciding between going down Thane or heading out to North Douglas was one of the toughest decides we’ve ever had to make in our lives – but we decided on Thane since it was closer and I wanted to get back for the Duke game at 4.

First up, here’s the amazing view we got at the end of our 5-minute journey…

Here’s Michele reading her book in the sun…

And here’s Barkley, saying, “What you talking about, Willis?”

This is a pretty cool waterfall on the other side of the road…

Barkley managed to find himself a big stick to chew on for a while…

He could sense us watching him, so he turned and said, “What you looking at, Willis?”

The sun started to fall behind the mountains, but I did get an amazing shot of the sun hitting the water, which somewhat reminded me of the sun hitting the water in St. Lucia…

Once Michele had to bundle up just to read her book, we decided it was time to move – plus Duke was tipping off shortly…

And yes, Michele has me watching this season of “The Bachelor.”  And I’m not embarrassed by our amazing journey of watching that show at all!

True Romance

16 02 2010

Nothing quite says love and romance like the gift Michele gave me for Valentine’s Day…

He’s looking at you!  Right now, he is looking right at you.

For the record, I took Michele to dinner and got her a cool t-shirt from Threadless where the proceeds go to Haiti relief.  But oh well, when it comes to gift giving – you win some, you lose some.
